Welcome to 2016… I know. But better late than never. ūüėČ

2015 was a tumultuous year for my day job life.

Without getting into the politics and details, in early November, immediately after Hal-Con, I quit my day job after 11 years with the same company.

Tough call, but I immediately started sleeping through the night again.

It was time for a change. Even my photography was getting stale and I *love* photography.

So I switched jobs and have been on the road a lot for my new day job, and that’s given me time to sit back and put some thought into where I want to take my photography, which was desperately needed… So I didn’t pick up my camera for nearly 3 months while I reflected on where I wanted to go with my photography.

As a result, I’ve completely redesigned the web site and you’ll also notice that I’ve decided to split the race and corporate photography apart from my glamour and boudoir photography.

This site has been completely re-designed to focus the¬†McCarthy Photographic brand on my corporate and event clients and photography and there are even more updated features like faster galleries with the ability to order prints and specialty items like plaques and license plates right from the galleries with lots of custom options in time for race season. I’ll be updating last year’s race galleries over the next few weeks to give you a teaser of the new look, so stay tuned!!

If you’re interested in my glamour and intimate portraiture work, it now has a new home too. Please feel free to join me over at Elegant Boudoir by McCarthy Photographic. I’ll maintain a link under the Glamour Portfolio above and the About->Links page but you can find the new site over at www.elegantboudoir.ca.

In case you didn’t know, in addition to event coverage and corporate headshots or¬†commercial work, we offer high end intimate portraiture (or boudoir photography) in the comfort of your own home, a bed & breakfast, fancy hotel or even in the studio. All our packages include full pampering by our hair and make up artists, respect, privacy and a hell of a lot of fun. I don’t really ascribe to the whole “bring out your inner goddess” philosophy, which to me just seems like the latest marketing bull-crap to try to sell you the “concept.” I do believe that an intimate portraiture session can be incredibly empowering and by taking control of your image can help build confidence and make you feel incredible about yourself. The adrenaline rush can be addictive too. After the initial shyness, I’ve had¬†several of my clients who simply¬†can’t get enough and book again and again!

Finally, I’ve decided to join the rest of the world

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent and share a few of my plans for 2016 with you. It’s going to be an awesome year!
