Hal-Con 2013 Recap

It’s been a crazy busy week trying to finish off all the last minute edits, make sure all the emails have been sent and prints have been fulfilled.

Hal-Con 2013 is one for the history books now and it was a pretty wild ride in itself.

According to the rumors, on Saturday alone nearly 3 times as many people attended as did the entire weekend last year. Mixed news in that the Fire Marshall stepped in at one point on Saturday afternoon and shut the place down. Who knew that the entire WTCC had a maximum limit of only 3000 people. And many of our city politicians still feel we don’t need a new convention centre… Sheesh! I for one cannot wait for the Nova Centre, although I still feel it may be small for the actual needs of our growing little city.

For those who did make it through the jam packed doors, we had over 300 purchase prints and digital images at our green/blue screen costume photo booth looking for an awesome photo showing all the hard work and fandom that went into preparing for the big weekend.

For the second year in a row, I partnered with fellow geek and photographer, Mark Ramsay for this unique shoot/edit/print while you wait endeavour and from the feedback so far, we have already booked our space for next year, wherever that may be.

If you came by and would like to purchase additional prints or digital versions, please do not hesitate to contact me using our contact form page. Let me know what you need and I will do my absolute best to make sure you get exactly what you’re looking for.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support Mark and I this past weekend and I hope to see you again next year. I made some new friends and revisited a few old ones and am already planning how to make next year bigger and better. šŸ˜‰

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the slideshow featuring a selection of a few of my personal favorite images from the weekend.
