I’ve been involved with some impressive workshops over the last couple of years and one common comment that has come back to me after just about every one of them was “If only I could afford to have that expensive gear, I could shoot that too!”
Well, this full day workshop is meant to dispel that myth once and for all.
Sure, there is a lot of truth to the old saying “The right tool for the job” but the right tool doesn’t always need to be a $5000+ lighting setup.
Join my good friend Steve Kaiser (Photography Instructor at the Center for Arts and Technology in Halifax) and I for a casual and fun day in the studio discussing lighting and low cost options to help you get great results without spending a small fortune.
We’ll discuss everything from $10 clip on lights to name brand (and off-brand) speedlights and even studio strobe options. We will cover some basic lighting setups and show how to use a light meter (you have on right in your camera) to get the best exposure and balance every time.
We’ll also provide the opportunity for you to shoot with two professional models with several lighting setups so you can actually get hands on time shooting and seeing first hand so you can go back home and practice with gear you already own.
Registration is only in advance and can be done directly through this link via PayPal. The cost is $79 plus HST. Lunch will be on your own and there are several options close to the studio in Halifax and there is plenty of free parking.
So click the link above to reserve your space and Steve and I look forward to spending October 18th, 2014 in the studio with you!
