It’s been an incredible summer.
I’ve gotten to photograph and hang hundreds of fantastic people around 5 different race tracks in three provinces, including the current Nascar Champion, Brad Keselowski a few weeks ago.
How frigging awesome is that?!?!? 😀
Now it’s all come to a close for the 2013 season with the action packed Dartmouth Dodge 200 this past Saturday afternoon at Scotia Speedworld.
Three champions were crowned on Saturday. One in each of the Bandoleros, Sportsman and Pro Stock classes.
Adam Meehan proved to be the first person I’ve personally witnessed to pull off a burn out after the Bandolero feature and winning the 2013 Championship, while after a wreck ravaged Sportsman feature that was cut short of the original 50 laps to only 29 laps due to time limits, Darren Wallage brought home his first Sportsman championship.
In a hard fought battle in the Dartmouth Dodge 200, Shaun Turple entered turn 1 a little hot with only a handful of laps to go and got under John Flemming’s back bumper running him almost into the grass. Somehow, Flemming managed to keep it together and still finished in 5th place clinching the championship.
I cannot express how much fun I had this summer and am both humbled and ecstatic that I’ve been asked to return as the official tour photographer next year. I learned a lot this year and have some great things planned for 2014 already. 🙂
