Black Tape Project – Round 4 / No8 Magazine
We had a few opportunities to add to our #BlackTapeProduct series this summer, so when the planets aligned and we were able to get one of our favorite models, Caroline Joy, along with our makeup artist extraordinaire, Bryana Doyscher, and fellow photographer, Paul Girvan all together on Natal Day this summer, we all took advantage of the chance!
We’ve had several of our sessions with Caroline published and we fully intended to submit this session, even before a single photo had been taken!
We’ve been working to try to streamline the tape application process as it’s been the most time consuming and this time around Bryana was able to reduce the application time to only about 90 minutes and we decided since we had a little extra time we would head along the south shore to Hubbards Beach to take advantage of the evening sun to help create some awesome color in the holographic vinyl tape. As it turns out, the sun went down behind the trees and we lost our light a lot earlier than we expected and we ended up only having about 25 minutes to shoot before the light disappeared.
Shortly after posting an outtake on our Instagram feed, No8 Magazine reached out and asked if we would be interested in sharing this set in an upcoming issue. Of course, we love No8 Magazine so we were thrilled to send the edited versions along for consideration. Needless to say, we were thrilled when we found out that not only would Caroline’s set be featured prominently but we had been chosen for the prestigious cover!
Here’s a sample of the images and spreads from the issue. Hope you enjoy them!
