I had a rare free afternoon in the studio and reached out to Olivia to see if she might be available for a test shoot with some bodyscapes and to play around with some different lighting and she was happy to join me for the afternoon! The results ended up getting us 3 different publications as well as a new cover for Untold Magazine.
Emma and I also took quite a while to find a date that was good for both of our schedules to do a test shoot in my studio in North End Halifax. The wait was definitely worth it though as this “test” set resulted in no less than 5 publications and 2 front cover magazine features! Hoping we can get together again soon to create something amazing.
Athena was visiting from Montreal some time ago and had reached out to shoot when she was in town. So, my daughter, Courtney, Athena and I decided to scout for a new waterfall that I had found online but never visited near Caledonia. Unfortunately, I’ve since forgotten where this fall was located as I’ve always wanted to go back when there was more water, but it seems to want to remain a mystery to me. Read more…
We ended up wrapping the 2021 Chasing Waterfalls season with a BANG! when both Amanda and Olivia were able to join forces on a mid-October visit to Moores Brook Falls near Kentville. One of the images from this set ended up making the cover of my Chasing Waterfalls art book!
I’ve shot with Amanda many times over the years and she’s one of my favorite fine art models. She’s also a circus performer and very flexible. It never ceases to amaze me when she makes a suggestion about a certain pose and then bends herself into a pretzel to make it happen. This visit to Dawson Falls, near St. Croix, was no different.
Luciana and I have been talking about shooting for a while, but with both of us having hectic schedules, it’s taken months to arrange a day to meet up at a waterfall and she brought her partner, Andy, along with her. When asked, Andy was happy to join in and we ended up creating some incredible couple images on this day.

A friend of mine recently purchased an incredible piece of property just outside of Halifax and she invited me to visit and set up a few photo shoots at the property. Tannery Brook Falls has recently become my go to falls when I don’t have a lot of time to travel – it’s literally 15 minutes from the city – and every time I shoot there, it’s different. When I had a *very* short window of time to shoot a waterfall with Amanda early one Sunday morning, it was the only place that made sense and the results were stunning!
This waterfall excursion happened *very* quickly. Like in a matter of a couple of hours from my initial message to Brittany to when we met in Bedford and headed to Tannery Brook Falls near Fall River. It was a chilly morning and Brittany was a trooper!
